  • Your customers are real people too
    Even sophisticated customers like physicians, scientists, and executives are first and foremost humans. They have needs, aspirations, and fears just like the rest of us.
  • You can’t discover a great insight without getting messy
    Getting to a substantial customer insight is often organic and rarely linear.
  • You should always go native if you get the chance
    When doing global research, remember to pay attention and immerse yourself in native cultures and marketplaces. Be fearless and experience their world as customers do every day.

Sean Connell

Global qualitative and insights leader of The Connell Group since 2000

Prior to founding The Connell Group in 2000, Sean was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, a political consultant, and a Procter & Gamble Market Researcher. With a passion for healthcare and human understanding, Sean leads the global qualitative practice. He has traveled to over 30 countries to interview physicians, patients, scientists, administrators, and consumers. He is an expert in concept development and has personally developed proprietary techniques to better elicit, interpret, and map customer needs.

Patty Klingbiel Connell

Architect of the quantitative and consulting practices since 2005

Patty brings more than 25 years of Brand Marketing, Research, and Consulting experience to Connell Group’s clients. She joined the firm in 2005 to build its quantitative research and strategic consulting practice. She began her career at Procter & Gamble in Healthcare Brand Marketing and served in senior marketing roles at Medsite.com (now WebMD), Merck-Medco, and as a Senior Strategy Consultant at the Zyman Group. Patty is the firm’s lead strategic consultant, helping clients identify the “meaning that matters” from research in order to clarify their brand strategy and propel their business forward. She has consulted extensively in Healthcare and Life Sciences, Technology, Financial Services, and Consumer Packaged Goods (in both B2B and B2C contexts).

Amy King

Global leader of global quantitative research solutions since 2015

After earning a Master’s in Economics, Amy started her career working in Bulgaria for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). With expertise in business consulting across a variety of industries, Amy has provided marketing insights support to complex B2B2C organizations that have multilayer constituents with diverse research needs. Now, Amy leads the global quantitative solutions practice at The Connell Group with a focus on approaches that help inform brand strategy, innovation, and marketing activation outcomes for our clients.
